About Dorothy:
"In the decade I’ve known Dorothy she has been many things to me: an advisor, comrade in arms, leader, and friend. I don’t think we’ll fully grasp the extent of Dorothy’s influence until she has retired. She is the rarest of gems, reaching the highest ranks of our profession and yet unrivaled in challenging the status quo to improve scientific culture, confronting institutional malpractice with her trademark chutzpah, and all the while with her attention focused firmly on supporting the lives of junior scientists. As she enjoys a well-earned rest, she leaves behind a proud legacy, a grateful community, and ridiculously large shoes to fill."
